PCM Trials Achieves Important Data Privacy Milestones
PCM Trials is excited to announce that we have successfully self-certified for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF. These frameworks provide an approved mechanism for the transfer of personal data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland to the U.S. In addition, self-certification provides evidence that PCM Trials adheres to sound privacy standards recognized by the EU, UK, and Switzerland.
Benefits of PCM Trials’ self-certification include efficient flows of data between participating countries and a smoother onboarding process between PCM Trials and its clients. Ultimately, as PCM Trials adheres to the DPF privacy principles, PCM Trials signals to our clients that data protection is a top priority and contributes to our leadership in the provision of decentralized clinical trial services globally.
This new certification means that contracting with new and existing clients may be streamlined in areas of data privacy and security, which lessens the burden for the contracting entities. In addition, DPF self-certification provides new and existing clients additional assurance when working with PCM Trials due to the enhanced level of data protection involved, and builds confidence that their data is being handled safely and legally while helping us meet our regulatory obligations under the GDPR.
“PCM Trials is extremely proud of the fact that we are an early mover in our industry addressing these important international data privacy concerns,” said Hollis Baugh, PCM Trials’ Vice President of Compliance and Data Protection Officer. “By ensuring that our worldwide customers’ data is strongly safeguarded, we’re reiterating our commitment to being the leading compliant global provider of mobile research services within the decentralized clinical trials ecosystem.”
DPF self-certification relieves administrative burden in the flow of data, allowing PCM Trials to focus on providing its core services to clients in the most frictionless and efficient manner possible.
